Roots is designed with our youngest players in mind. Through fun, game-based activities, players build familiarity with the ball, listening skills, body awareness and athletic movement, and plenty of enthusiasm for the game.
Parents may be asked to join in, which makes for great parent-child time and a more effective session.
Beach FC Roots
ROOTS AT A GLANCE
AGE GROUP
U4–U5, ages 3 and 4. Our youngest program and the very first step at Beach FC.
DEVELOPMENT LEVEL
Beginner. No experience needed. This is a child's first introduction to soccer.
FIRST-CLASS FACILITY
Virginia Beach sessions are at the Hampton Roads Soccer Complex, our first-class training facility.
COACHES
Sessions are led by Beach FC coaches and high school 'Next Wave' coaches, with parents often joining in.
WHAT FAMILIES CAN EXPECT
Short, playful sessions that build the foundations, and a lot of smiles.
COMFORTABLE ON THE BALL
Lots of touches through fun whole-group and small-group activities.
MOVING LIKE AN ATHLETE
Running, stopping, balance, and coordination movement patterns of the game.

Simple instructions and routines that build confidence and focus.
