THE CORNERSTONE
OF BEACH FC
Advanced is our largest program and the level of play that fits most youth players. It builds on the passion for the game started in Recreation, with a higher level of competition.
Teams are built on connection and relationships as well as skill — some stay together all the way from U9 to U19.

ADVANCED AT A GLANCE
AGE GROUP
U9 through U19, boys and girls.
DEVELOPMENT LEVEL
Beginner to intermediate, fine-tuning technical and tactical understanding of the game.
TASL LEAGUE
Away games against other clubs in the Tidewater Advanced Soccer League, within about an hour.
VOLUNTEER COACHES
Parent coaches choose practice times and locations, typically twice a week.
WHAT FAMILIES CAN EXPECT
A positive, team-first environment where players and coaches grow together.
HOME GAMES AT HRSC
Home games are at the Hampton Roads Soccer Complex.
REGIONAL OPPONENTS
Away games against TASL clubs, usually within 60 minutes of Virginia Beach.
TEAMS THAT STAY TOGETHER
Some Advanced teams play together from U9 all the way to U19.
PRACTICE TWICE A WEEK
City fields and our Advanced training field at Wyndamere Park.
FALL AND SPRING
Two 8-week seasons — teams commit to a full year of play.
ROOM TO MOVE UP
Players who want more can try out for Travel Lite or Travel.

Beach FC Advanced provides U9–U19 players with more competition than traditional in-house Recreation while maintaining a more accessible commitment level than Travel Lite or Travel.
Who Advanced Serves
Advanced is the competitive middle ground in Beach FC's pathway — not a lesser version of Travel, but a distinct environment built for players who want more competition while continuing to develop.
What Players Develop
Team-Centered Structure
- Teams may remain together across multiple age groups.
- Team formation considers player level, roster availability, relationships, and comparable soccer ability.
- Teams are not formed strictly by neighborhood or geographic location.
- Practice location may depend on field allocation and the volunteer coach.

Placement Requirement
Advanced is roster-based. Registration or attendance at a placement opportunity does not guarantee a roster position.

- Available roster space
- Player evaluation
- Appropriate Advanced-level placement
- Team and age-group needs
Schedules & Fields
Advanced teams compete in regional league play, with home matches at Hampton Roads Soccer Complex and away matches against Tidewater Advanced Soccer League opponents.
